Dog Friendly Facilities in Devon

Everything your dog needs for a proper holiday — purpose-built spa, doggy menu, welcome treat on arrival and walks straight from the gate.

Your dog is part of the family. We have built and maintained the facilities to reflect that — not as an afterthought but as a genuine part of what Oakdown offers. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, your dog is catered for.

Here is everything on site for your dog.

Built for muddy dogs

Clean Paws Dog Spa

Clean Paws is our purpose-built dog wash, located centrally on the park and free to use throughout your stay. A day on the beach or through the heather deserves a proper clean-up — and Clean Paws is exactly that.

Dog bath

Full-size bath with hot water shower — enough room for any breed.

Professional hairdryer

A proper dog hairdryer — not a travel hairdryer balanced on a shelf.

Free to use

No charge. No booking needed. Open all day for all guests.

Dog shampoo is available to purchase from the on-site shop if you need it.

The welcome starts at the gate

Reception Welcome

Your dog gets a proper welcome at reception — a treat waiting on arrival from the team. The reception team are always happy to recommend walks, dog-friendly beaches with up-to-date seasonal information and local pubs and cafés that welcome dogs.

Dog waste bins are sited throughout the park. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times within the park and exercised off-site.

Dogs eat here too

Oak Mead Café — Dedicated Doggy Menu

The Oak Mead Café at our on-site golf course welcomes dogs and has a dedicated doggy menu — one of very few holiday park cafés in the South West to offer one. Dog-friendly ice cream is available throughout the season.

Dogs are welcome throughout the café. It makes a difference when you can sit down properly with a coffee and your dog rather than tying them up outside.

Doggy menu available throughout the season. Dog-friendly ice cream served at the café. Dogs welcome throughout Oak Mead Café.

On-Site Shop

The on-site shop stocks everyday goods alongside a range of dog essentials — dog shampoo for use in Clean Paws, treats and other supplies. Useful if you have forgotten something or run out mid-stay.

Straight from the gate

Field Trail to the Donkey Sanctuary

A signed walking trail runs from the park gate through ancient managed hedgerow to the Donkey Sanctuary — fifteen minutes on foot, level ground throughout. No car needed. Entry to the Sanctuary is free and dogs are welcome throughout the site.

The trail connects to the South West Coast Path. From the Sanctuary you can continue to the clifftops and back on a circular route.
