Oakdown Holiday Park nr Sidmouth East Devon a dedicated touring and camping field with wash facilities

Your holiday starts with a welcome from the reception team and the resident wardens, whose job is simply to help your stay run smoothly. We take real care over allocating pitches, so talk to reception when you book and we will do our best to suit what you need.

The park is AA Platinum graded and home to thousands of trees and shrubs. Pitches are level, closely mown and generous in size, with parking alongside your own pitch.

What we can take

We welcome touring caravans, motorhomes, tents, trailer tents and folding campers. We can also take recreational vehicles and American style motorhomes, but those spaces are limited, so book early if you are bringing one.

Choosing a pitch

Every pitch is level with parking alongside. Many sit within groves, with hedging between pitches for a bit of privacy.

Facilities on the park

There are two amenity blocks, one on the main site and one at Beech Grove. Guests have called them immaculate. We work hard to keep it that way.

Our field trail starts at a small gate opposite the main entrance and runs level all the way to the Donkey Sanctuary. Clean Paws is our own dog wash, with a dog bath, a hot water shower and a dryer, built from materials reclaimed on site and lit by solar. Oak Mead is a family friendly nine hole par three course. Oakdowners get a discount. There is more on our park facilities page.

Seasonal pitches

A seasonal pitch lets you leave your tourer with us for the whole season and use it whenever you please. No repeat bookings, no towing back and forth, no comparing destinations every time you fancy a few days away. When the sun comes out you can simply go.

Seasonal fees cover a hard standing pitch, electric hook-up and water from a tap nearby. On super serviced pitches the tap is at the pitch itself. Beyond that, the only charges to think about are your metered electricity and your winter storage.

Family and friends are welcome to use your pitch too, with your permission. There is more on our seasonal touring pitches page.

Worth knowing. Seasonal pitches are limited and tend to go early. Ring reception on 01297 680 387 to ask what is left.

Getting here

We sit just off the A3052, which gives good access whatever you are towing. The Route 899 bus stops at our entrance gates, so you can leave the car or the outfit on the pitch and still get to Sidmouth, Branscombe and the coast.

Sidmouth and its beaches are three miles away, with the Jurassic Coast and the Donkey Sanctuary close by. There is more on our local transport options page.

A few house rules

For everyone’s safety we do not allow firepits, bicycles, skateboards or kite flying on the park.

If you would like to barbecue, ask at reception for fire bricks. They lift the barbecue off the ground and protect the grass. We are always happy to lend them.

Book your stay

Book online, or call reception on 01297 680 387 and tell us what you are bringing. We book directly only, never Booking.com or Pitchup.com.
