Sidmouth
Sidmouth is a Regency seaside town that never went in for amusement arcades. Painted terraces along the esplanade, gardens above the beach, red cliffs at either end plus the Sid Valley running inland behind it.
The beach is part sand plus part shingle. The town keeps a proper high street with independent shops, which is rarer than it should be on this coast.
You can leave the car on the pitch. The Route 899 stops at our entrance gates then runs into Sidmouth in under twenty minutes.
