The lounge of a holiday home with an electric fire below a wall mounted television, shelving alongside and the kitchen beyond

Our lodges sit in Cherry Grove, Hazel Grove and Oak Grove, finished to the highest standard with modern fixtures and fittings throughout. All are double glazed and fully centrally heated to household quality. All are electric too, for safety and ease of use.

They suit couples and families equally. Each has two bedrooms, a roomy living room and a fully equipped kitchen catering for six. Every lodge is subject to an enhanced cleaning programme on changeover.

Inside the lodges

The kitchen is spacious, with a microwave, a fridge freezer, a full electric cooker and a vacuum cleaner, equipped for up to six guests.

There is a double bedroom with a flat screen television and a second bedroom with two single beds. The family bathroom has a large shower, toilet and basin. There is a separate toilet as well.

The lounge has sprung seating, a fold out guest bed, a remote controlled flat screen television, a DVD player and an electric fire.

The three groves

Five of our sixteen lodges are pet friendly. The rest are pet free.

What is included

Bedding and towels are provided for every guest staying. If a lodge is booked for two we make up the double bed only — please do ask if you would like a double and a single made up instead.

Electricity is included in the tariff.

A couple of house rules. Smoking is not permitted inside any of our accommodation. For everyone’s safety we do not allow bicycles, skateboards, kite flying or firepits on the park.

Our pet friendly lodges

The five pet friendly lodges are in Hazel Grove. Each one comes with a bed or blanket for your dog, a feeding bowl and a biscuit treat waiting on arrival.

There is more on our dog friendly lodges page, including the walks from the gate and the dog spa on the park.

Easier access

One lodge in Oak Grove sits at ground level with no steps to negotiate. It has a level approach via an access ramp, a ground floor entrance, lever taps and a dedicated wide parking space with a level paved path to the door.

It is a standard lodge with easier access rather than a fully adapted one — door widths and fittings are standard throughout — so we are always happy to talk it through before you book. Our access statement has the full detail.

Booking and short breaks

Short breaks are available in March, April and from October onwards. In low season there is a minimum stay of four nights.

We take bookings directly, online or through reception. Oakdown does not use Booking.com or Pitchup.com, so please book with us.

An award winning park around you

Oakdown is a quiet park in tranquil surroundings, directly off the A3052 so it is easy to reach from a distance. Sidmouth and its beaches are three miles away.

On the park there are adventure play areas for children. The Oak Mead Cafe and shop has hot food, refreshments and the essentials. We have held the David Bellamy Conservation Gold Award every year since 1996 — there is more on looking after our environment.
