We have caravanned for many years, but this…. by far… is the best site we have ever had the pleasure to stay at. It is immaculate, pitches are of an excellent size. Facilities are spotless and luxurious. Nothing and I mean nothing! is too much trouble for the staff. Recycling is done to the enth degree with even the ‘waste liquid’ from the site feeding a reed bed which has been constructed across the lane. The most beautiful walks to the donkey sanctuary with all trees and benches sponsored by people in memory. The site owners plough lots of their revenue back into making the surrounding area one as beautiful as it can be. They are to be commended on the park itself and its staff. You are even not to throw glass into the glass recycling between certain hours so as not to disturb fellow campers. Absolutely wonderful!!!! Be back again next year!! Oh, forgot to say, proper washing up room, not just a sink! And full launderette room with washers, dryers, ironing boards and irons. Nothing is too much for them to do for you.

Stayed here as friends have a static caravan on the site. Stayed in what they call a Shepherds Hut on wheels! It had a comfy bed, sofa and fridge. What more do you need! Washing and toilet facilities very clean and close by. The whole area is immaculate which include a small shop and cafe. It even had a 9 hole pitch and putt area. All staff very helpful and friendly especially Julie who showed us to our accommodation.
Very enjoyable stay.

This campsite maybe small, but dont let that sway you. On arrival we were shown to our pitch by a friendly man that couldnt do enough for us. There are 2 sides of the camp and we were situated on the main side. The shower blocks etc are imaculate. Flowers in the loos and the best wash up facilities we have ever used. If you need the loo in the night they even have the radio playing for company.
Walk over to the side of the site and there is a well stocked shop, cafe and play park.Along with a golf course. Very dog friendly, lovely walk all the way to the donkey sanctury. You can hear the donkeys from your pitch which is great.
We came the weekend england played in the semi-finals and two tvs were up with bunting around the park. Staff friendly and helpful.
Felt very rested even though we were only there for a long weekend.

This is, without doubt, the best caravan site we have ever visited. The touring pitches are all set around large lawned areas. The owners could easily squeeze double the caravans onto the site but prefer to give the luxurious feel of open space to their visitors. The toilets are fantastic and would not be out of place in a top hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful and the local area has so many attractions and beautiful places to choose from we will simply have to go back to finish our voyage of discovery.

Oakdown has to be the best caravan site we have ever stayed on! The toilets were always immaculate and when they were being cleaned, there were unisex ones to use, which was amazing. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, and despite the site being quite large, it still seemed fairly quiet which was nice. The pitches were also great- we had a wide, flat hard standing pitch which we were directed onto by a warden on our arrival. Additionally, the campsite is in a great location to visit both Devon and Dorset. There is also golf and a well stocked shop on site, which sells delicious gelato ice cream! We will definitely be returning.

This was our first family camping holiday with our little one, what can I say except fantastic!
The staff were more than welcoming catering to our needs, as we arrived a day late accomdating an extra night for us.
Lovely well kept site, amenities kept in perfect clean condition we used the family bathroom with ease.
The camping plots were spacious very quiet in the evenings. We stayed on beech grove.
My daughter loved both parks she is only little, the park provided for this with a little slide and swing.
The shop was well stocked, we could of easily not shopped before we went as they literally had everything, and at really reasonable prices too! Our daughter certainly enjoyed going there each day to choose her ice cream. The owners and staff were lovely. We had a Pizza on the first night well worth the money. The fry ups were delicious too!
Lovely surroundings the donkey sanctory was only a short walk from The camp.
Sidmouth hopper bus was great to use picking us up from the campsite into sidmouth town.
Perfect camping trip all around we will definitely be visiting again!

Smart reception building with a friendly welcome; escorted to our pitch by a warden, which was a nice touch; lovely good-sized, hedge-lined pitch; the amenities were a short walk and are clearly very new, and, as everyone else says, are ‘spotless’… although, they’re not the largest (3 showers in the mens’) so could get busy at peak times; there’s also a bathroom, laundry room and kitchen with a help-yourself microwave and freezer (both very useful and typical of the attention to detail throughout the site); the 9-hole golf course (which is what first attracted us to Oakdown) is good fun and although the holes are quite ‘samey’, they’re still challenging – especially for amateurs like us!; there’s a friendly shop with all the basics and a nice café with plenty of specials (my partner’s daughter described the home-made Nutella ice-cream as the best ever!); there’s also a TV and games room with pool table and table football that helped kill an hour or two in the evening; Sidmouth is a few minutes’ drive; the Donkey Sanctuary (free admission) is a few minute’s walk along a private path from the site; whilst a bus to Sidmouth stops right outside the park and costs just a quid; there are pods and static caravans onsite too, so very much something for everyone, whatever your budget (the camping prices, given the facilities and the location, were very reasonable).

We stayed in one of the luxury mobile homes and it was spotless, lovely interior and in a really quiet location. The location of the park was perfect and easy to travel to different places. We will definitely be back and have recommended it to others who have been and loved it just as much.

After reading so many positive views on Trip Advisor I thought we’d book onto a fully Serviced pitch for 7 nights

We arrived quite late at 830pm due to traffic and a diversion, where we was met by a Warden (sorry I’m terrible with names) who was very courteous and helpful and directed us to our pitch, the site is very well kept with the toilets and showers being immaculate, a local well stocked on site shop/cafe/pizza bar is also very impressive which is opposite the Golf Course.
