From the moment you drive onto the site you can see what a well kept caravan site Oakdown is. It gets even better when you check in at reception. What an immaculate area with genuine friendly staff, NO FALSENESS! NO ROBOTS!
Being then shown to your site and guided on by one of the staff is another +.
One of the main things you want when on site is clean well kept facilities, Oakdown has the best I have ever seen on a camping site. You would think you were staying at a 5* hotel.
Locally there are good restaurants and pubs with a more than adequate on site shop selling essentials snacks and Pizzas etc
We have been there a few times and will definitely been returning again next.

Stayed at Oakdown at various times from May-Oct 2019. Enjoyed our time at there so much this summer we have decided to move to a seasonal pitch there next season. Facilities kept exceptionally clean at all times. The site itself maintained to high standards and the staff always ready to help in any way whilst being friendly and treating you like a member of the family. A great base to visit local beaches and walks. Cant wait for next spring!

See you next season Oakdown.

This was our third visit to stay for a week in one of the excellent holiday lodges. Some friends accompanying us stayed in one of a number of separate holiday homes which allows dogs.
All lodges are clean, comfortable and well equipped on a beautifully maintained site. This holiday park is ideal for a quiet and restful time with no noise generating club or swimming pool.
The facilities block provides showers, toilets, washing, drying machines and ironing arrangements and all is scrupulously clean. An on-site shop and cafe provides all that is needed. There is an adjoining 18 hole golf course with golf clubs available to hire. From the moment you arrive and given a warm welcome in reception, you know you are in a quality, family owned and operated holiday park.

This is, without doubt, the best caravan site we have ever visited. The touring pitches are all set around large lawned areas. The owners could easily squeeze double the caravans onto the site but prefer to give the luxurious feel of open space to their visitors. The toilets are fantastic and would not be out of place in a top hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful and the local area has so many attractions and beautiful places to choose from we will simply have to go back to finish our voyage of discovery.

Oakdown has to be the best caravan site we have ever stayed on! The toilets were always immaculate and when they were being cleaned, there were unisex ones to use, which was amazing. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, and despite the site being quite large, it still seemed fairly quiet which was nice. The pitches were also great- we had a wide, flat hard standing pitch which we were directed onto by a warden on our arrival. Additionally, the campsite is in a great location to visit both Devon and Dorset. There is also golf and a well stocked shop on site, which sells delicious gelato ice cream! We will definitely be returning.

This was our first family camping holiday with our little one, what can I say except fantastic!
The staff were more than welcoming catering to our needs, as we arrived a day late accomdating an extra night for us.
Lovely well kept site, amenities kept in perfect clean condition we used the family bathroom with ease.
The camping plots were spacious very quiet in the evenings. We stayed on beech grove.
My daughter loved both parks she is only little, the park provided for this with a little slide and swing.
The shop was well stocked, we could of easily not shopped before we went as they literally had everything, and at really reasonable prices too! Our daughter certainly enjoyed going there each day to choose her ice cream. The owners and staff were lovely. We had a Pizza on the first night well worth the money. The fry ups were delicious too!
Lovely surroundings the donkey sanctory was only a short walk from The camp.
Sidmouth hopper bus was great to use picking us up from the campsite into sidmouth town.
Perfect camping trip all around we will definitely be visiting again!

Smart reception building with a friendly welcome; escorted to our pitch by a warden, which was a nice touch; lovely good-sized, hedge-lined pitch; the amenities were a short walk and are clearly very new, and, as everyone else says, are ‘spotless’… although, they’re not the largest (3 showers in the mens’) so could get busy at peak times; there’s also a bathroom, laundry room and kitchen with a help-yourself microwave and freezer (both very useful and typical of the attention to detail throughout the site); the 9-hole golf course (which is what first attracted us to Oakdown) is good fun and although the holes are quite ‘samey’, they’re still challenging – especially for amateurs like us!; there’s a friendly shop with all the basics and a nice café with plenty of specials (my partner’s daughter described the home-made Nutella ice-cream as the best ever!); there’s also a TV and games room with pool table and table football that helped kill an hour or two in the evening; Sidmouth is a few minutes’ drive; the Donkey Sanctuary (free admission) is a few minute’s walk along a private path from the site; whilst a bus to Sidmouth stops right outside the park and costs just a quid; there are pods and static caravans onsite too, so very much something for everyone, whatever your budget (the camping prices, given the facilities and the location, were very reasonable).

We stayed in one of the luxury mobile homes and it was spotless, lovely interior and in a really quiet location. The location of the park was perfect and easy to travel to different places. We will definitely be back and have recommended it to others who have been and loved it just as much.

After reading so many positive views on Trip Advisor I thought we’d book onto a fully Serviced pitch for 7 nights

We arrived quite late at 830pm due to traffic and a diversion, where we was met by a Warden (sorry I’m terrible with names) who was very courteous and helpful and directed us to our pitch, the site is very well kept with the toilets and showers being immaculate, a local well stocked on site shop/cafe/pizza bar is also very impressive which is opposite the Golf Course.
