Oakdown takes the Honey Bee pledge
Oakdown take the Honey Bee pledge
As part of our ongoing commitment to conservation, proven by our David Bellamy Conservation Award with Special Distinction, Oakdown is proud to announce that we have taken the David Bellamy Honey Bee pledge.
The David Bellamy Conservation Award Scheme has teamed up with The British Beekeepers Association (BBKA) to form the Honey Bee Friendly Park Project which aims to get as many parks as possible working together to conserve the British bee population, which have seen a dramatic decline in recent years.
By taking the pledge, Oakdown have committed to planting forage crops that help bees to survive including our mini herb gardens located on jubilee green near reception. We have also planted lots of lavenders as well as orchids, which are just starting to come into bloom in the wild flower area on the golf course.
