Park Facilities

Our holiday park, in Sidmouth, offers a range of facilities to make your stay with us as memorable as possible.

We are family and pet friendly.  Whether you’re bringing your pet pooch, need to stock up on those daily essentials or just want somewhere to grab a coffee and slice of cake, whilst the children are playing in the park – there is something for all members of the family whilst staying at Oakdown.

Take a look below at our awarding winning facilities.

Clean Paws Dog Spa

Our bespoke dog wash, named Clean Paws, has all you need for your pampered pooch.  It is fully equipped with dog bath, hot water shower and doggie hair dryer.  There is no charge for this pet friendly facility.  It is proving most popular with the owners – maybe not so for the dogs!!

The lighting in the hut is solar powered and the spa is open for use all day.  We have also reduced the carbon footprint by using recycled materials from the site and local companies.

Gas Bottle exchange available

Please note we are experiencing supply issues with gas.
Please source before your arrival as we are unable to guarantee any stock on site.

We stock Calor gas – 3kg and 6kg Propane, 4.5kg and 7kg Butane and Camping Gaz bottles 904 and 907.

Please visit reception to order your gas, if you need any assistance taking to your pitch please ask.

While we try to maintain stock levels, we cannot guarantee they will be available for your arrival.

Oak Mead Café and Shop

Whilst staying at Oakdown you don’t need to travel far for some good food.  Our OakMead café  serves a pretty impressive cooked breakfast, giving you a good start to your day exploring the locality.  Trish and Tim offer much more, with homemade pizzas and traditional gelato (flavours change frequently), paninis and other hot food.  They also stock a great selection of cold drinks, and of course barista coffees.

Please do not hesitate to place an order for newspapers, croissants, fresh bread and pastries – we have deliveries daily.  You are spoilt for choice – after all, you are on holiday so enjoy the experience!  The shop is well stocked and has a great selection of foods, drinks and anything else you may have forgotten to pack in your rush to arrive.

See their facebook page for opening times and how to pre order

Play Areas

Children are important here, keeping them entertained so you can relax is paramount.  We have two play areas one located on each side of the park.  You are welcome to use both during your stay.  They are full with climbing frames, swings, an embankment slide and a fantastic play tower.  It’s a place where your children can expend that energy and make new friends, while you can sit and watch – or maybe join in?  All of our equipment have modern safety surfaces beneath.  Hours of fun can be had at Oakdown.  If you are staying on Beech Grove the park is adjacent to the café and the golf course – convenient!!

Oakdown-wifi

WiFi

Oakdown now offers a network of wifi repeaters around the park.  Oakdown has made a large investment into this project, having had many obstacles to jump through, it’s been a timely process.  The wifi network is supplied via a satellite location on the Park, internet speeds from the local exchange just couldn’t cope with the demand, we are currently installing extra repeaters in areas where there is limited coverage, so be sure to check the availability before purchasing a voucher. (Due to Oakdown’s Rural setting signal strength can be intermittent)

Pitch and Putt

We are very proud of our 9 hole par 3 pitch and putt Oak Mead Family Golf course.  It is located on Beech Grove side of the park, adjacent to the café/shop.  Oak Mead has been planned from the very start as a family attraction, and opened to the public in the summer of 2003.  It is family friendly and equipment can be loaned and collected from the café/shop, along with your score card.  It is a beautiful tranquil space for all to enjoy – sorry no dogs on the course!  Our resident greenkeeper Jason does a fine job keeping it well trimmed and changing the holes to keep you on your toes.

We also have a field trail leading towards the Donkey Sanctuary fields on the northern boundary, our Victorian reed bed and bird hide can be reached using this path.  The hide is an ideal spot to spend sometime twitching.  It’s a perfect walk for the children to run on ahead and for dogs to be exercised on leads.

The Golf is open all year round and is also OPEN TO NON RESIDENTS. Please pay at the OakMead café and collect your equipment (if required) and a score card.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WHEN THE SHOP IS NOT OPEN – PLEASE MAKE YOUR PAYMENT AT OAKDOWN RECEPTION on the opposite side of the lane.

If you are a guest with us then call into reception and we can issue a voucher for you to save £1 per person per round.
