Hello Oakdowners! We hope you are all keeping safe and well 💚 In case you haven’t seen it, here is our latest announcement on our website:
Following the latest Government advice on May 10th, we have taken the decision to remain closed until at least July 4th. We hope that we may be able to open in some capacity on or around this date, but this is obviously dependent on a number of external factors out of our control.
We understand that this will affect a large number of bookings and that you may be concerned about your stay with us. Rest assured we will be contacting all bookings in blocks of 2 weeks in date order to discuss and rearrange bookings … we aim to be as flexible as possible and we will be happy to transfer bookings up to your arrival date 2021. Please bear with us whilst we try to manage this very surreal situation. We encourage any questions and queries to be put in an email as we anticipate the phone lines will be rather busy. We hope to welcome guests back very soon, we are all extremely saddened at the state the world is in – remember we are all in this together… stay safe … stay home …. thank you all for all your support.

To all our lovely guests after days of uncertainty for what to do for the best when having to think of so many different peoples situations we would like to inform you we are closing our doors as of today Sunday March 22nd. We have been doing our best to restrict contact but now the only way to support the local community and our precious NHS is to restrict further by temporarily closing to all holiday guests. We will be contacting all bookings in blocks of 2 weeks in date order to discuss and rearrange bookings … we aim to be as flexible as possible and we will be happy to transfer bookings up to your arrival date 2021.
Good afternoon – 19/03/20
We open the touring park tomorrow so we felt this was a good opportunity to email to reassure of our attention to detail, here at Oakdown. Our number one priority is the safety and welfare of our guests,
We have all been through a lot recently and we understand that it can be frustrating, confusing and scary to not have answers when you need them most, we are in the same situation ourselves with Government advice changing at a fast pace and
sometimes the advice is vague. We are keeping up to date with advice from the Government and The British Holiday Home & Park Association.
At this stage the UK is free of mandatory travel restrictions and therefore we will continue as usual.
The advice for “non essential” travel we believe is pertaining to trips abroad. We feel that as we do not have large club rooms we have no reason to close under the current guidelines.
Our already high standards of cleanliness have been further updated in accordance to current recommendations and all our five-star facilities are open as usual and will continue to be unless we are informed otherwise.
Please do ensure you wash your hands, with soap, regularly, for 20 seconds minimum, that you double bag and seal your rubbish, particularly if tissues are within.
Tim and Trish are keeping the cafe/shop open and will be offering take away service as well as all their usual products.
Whilst we are still here to make your holiday as enjoyable as possible please keep face to face contact with our staff, other guests to an absolute minimum at all times. Please do call us if we can help you on 01297 680387
If you have been in contact with anyone who has been showing symptoms or are feeling unwell yourself please stay at home. Should you develop any symptoms during your stay please contact reception immediately via telephone.
In this situation we would ask you to return home ASAP and self isolate.
We will continue to monitor reliable information sources, take sensible precautions where possible, and continue to help owners and guests enjoy their breaks as planned.
Best wishes
The Franks family and Oakdown Team
