jurassic coast

Our stretch of coastline is within the Dorset & East Devon World Heritage Site which was officially designated by UNESCO on 13th December 2001. It's the first natural World Heritage Site in England and recognises the unique geology of the area. The full 95 miles of coastline represents 185 million years of the earths history.

From baking deserts to tropical seas, an ancient fossil forest and dinosaur infested swamps; the Dorset and East Devon coast (southern UK) provides a fascinating glimpse into the ancient past including the entire Jurassic period.

sponsors

Oakdown Holiday Park is a Project Sponsor of the Trust and raises funds through its ‘Investing in the Future' scheme, which aims to help protect and conserve the stunning landscape and coastline of the World Heritage Site through projects funded by voluntary visitor donations.

The project Oakdown Holiday Park has chosen also supports ‘Sidmouth in Bloom' as it combines educating people about the Jurassic Coast with planting on the Triangle Site in the centre of Sidmouth.
