Our
stretch of coastline is within the Dorset & East Devon World Heritage
Site which was officially designated by UNESCO on 13th December 2001. It's the first natural
World Heritage Site in England and recognises the unique geology of
the area. The full 95 miles of coastline represents 185 million years
of the earths history.
From baking deserts to
tropical seas, an ancient fossil forest and dinosaur infested swamps; the
Dorset and East Devon coast (southern UK) provides a fascinating glimpse into
the ancient past including the entire Jurassic period.
